A leveza de ser (invisível) by Fábio Araújo
Sometimes less is more.
The expression is there. It is assertive, exact… succinct.
(it was Mies’ motto—who are we to judge him...)
Reducing to the essential, we might say.
Is it in this act that we would become light?
Freed?
To be light, as a primary objective.
And to become the banality of everyday life. Without the weight that takes up space, that crushes, that suffocates us, that makes us lie down, look at the sky, and wish to be light.
And we, in our daily routine, tragically erring in what we do, say, and in other things that are nothing more than things of things of things.
To be light, as a primary objective.
Like a dog that walks, that strolls and occupies the city.
But no one sees it.
A dog that exists, without existing.
Or exists, like a phantom limb.
One imagines a leash, a taut and empty red collar walking through the streets of Prague, like a reserve where desired images are projected.
Could being light also mean being free?
(The question is banal and reductive, no doubt—but does it have an answer?)
