TEX REX is a creative process that turns discarded garments into a more versatile and appealing raw material, capable of being applied to art, architecture, fashion, or design.

Ana Baleia, a textile artist and designer, will present at PLATO the results of a year of experiments and artistic exercises she conducted within the scope of her TEX REX project. Rooted in a territory with a great tradition in the use of fabric – Alentejo – it proposes, above all, a reflection on textile consumption and waste. It was carried within the scope of the Magallanes_ICC Programme, in collaboration with ARTERIALAB and the University of Évora, as well as with the support of the Direcção Regional de Cultura do Alentejo.
