Vinícius Lopes (1993, Tabocas do Brejo Velho, Brazil) He currently lives and works in Porto, Portugal. His paintings explore the aesthetic and structural potential of image production and how images are implicitly embedded in cultural processes, as well as in the ways events are documented and collectively understood.Recent exhibitions: he participated in the 2024 Cerveira Biennial, organized by the Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira, in Vila Nova de Cerveira, Portugal, curated by Helena Mendes Pereira. He was also present at the 20th edition of SP-Arte, at the Bienal Pavilion – Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, in São Paulo, Brazil, represented by Galeria Luis Maluf. At the same gallery, he took part in the exhibition “Usina” in São Paulo, curated by Agnaldo Farias and Priscyla Gomes. In 2023, he presented work in the exhibition “Primeira” at Galeria Interior in Viseu, curated by Teresa Arêde. He also held two solo exhibitions in Porto, Portugal: “No Outro Dia” at Mármol Project, curated by Matias Romano, and “Descansaço” at Okna Gallery, curated by Radu Sciliar. Additionally, he participated in the group exhibition “Visibilidade e Cegueira” at Atelier Galeria FFAC, curated by Tales Frey.
