Leaking Bodies, Solo Show by Susana Rocha Hedone #2 — Technology
“Pleasure is often seen as something positive, isn’t it? The pleasure brings us joy, happiness, and relaxation. But some pleasures can be morbid, masochistic, melancholic... and there’s beauty in that. Technology functions, in this sense, as an excellent support for, for example, our memory. It offers us triggers and archives, allowing us to access memories and experiences in a way that was previously impossible. There is, for example, a pleasure in remembering that can be very rewarding.” SR

Her practice develops around tensions, which are explored through a multiplicity of materials with characteristics with metaphorical potential, which often evoke an implicit relationship with a suggested body; that manifest a transitory meaning of life, where the experience of mourning and the absurd have a strong presence; that start from the phenomenon of suggestion to embody absence, limitation and failure.
