"The proposta para a ARCO Lisboa 2026 reuniu Hernâni Reis Baptista e Eduardo Antonio num diálogo sobre o corpo, a memória e a imaginação, explorando as fronteiras entre o íntimo e o simbólico. Hernâni Reis Baptista abordou o corpo como uma superfície social e emocional, enquanto Eduardo Antonio desenvolveu uma prática pictórica na qual o sonho, a natureza e a memória se fundem num universo singular. Em conjunto, os artistas propuseram uma experiência aberta, onde imagens e objetos funcionavam como territórios de projeção, resistência e desejo.
A participação da Plato na ARCOlisboa 2026, na secção Opening Lisboa, reforçou o compromisso da galeria com o apoio a práticas artísticas emergentes e com a criação de diálogos entre diferentes gerações, linguagens e perspetivas. Apresentado na Cordoaria Nacional, o projeto refletiu a abordagem curatorial da Plato, que privilegia a experimentação, a investigação crítica e o desenvolvimento de relações próximas com os artistas. A proposta foi ainda distinguida com uma menção honrosa pelo júri da Opening Lisboa."
The proposal for ARCO Lisboa 2026 brought together Hernâni Reis Baptista and Eduardo Antonio in a dialogue on the body, memory, and imagination, exploring the boundaries between the intimate and the symbolic. Hernâni Reis Baptista approached the body as a social and emotional surface, while Eduardo Antonio developed a painting practice in which dream, nature, and memory merged into a singular universe. Together, the artists proposed an open-ended experience, where images and objects functioned as territories of projection, resistance, and desire.
Plato’s participation in ARCOlisboa 2026, within the Opening Lisboa section, reinforced the gallery’s commitment to supporting emerging artistic practices and creating dialogues between distinct generations, languages, and perspectives. Presented at the Cordoaria Nacional, the project reflected Plato’s curatorial approach, which privileged experimentation, critical inquiry, and the development of close relationships with artists. The proposal was further recognised with an honourable mention from the Opening Lisboa jury.
